As I sit here and write this post I look at the clock that reads 12:00 pm and I realize I’m still in my PJ’s!
So on this 5th day of #30DaysofPraise I am so thankful for the opportunity to be able to work in the comfort of my own home.
I’m not going to lie and say it’s all peaches and cream because it’s NOT. I’ve been working from home ever since 2001 and it’s been an adjustment to say the least. To be able to walk over clothes, tune out the television, forget about the dishes, not allow interruptions from neighbors or children and so can be a real challenge. (Heck I’m still learning every day to say NO to certain things that creep up on me and try to steal my time)
My sister Melissa and I own a Digital Marketing Agency eStategies Inc. where we help businesses with their Online Marketing needs. Anything from Search Engine Optimization, Social Media Marketing to Email Marketing and PPC Campaigns we can help. It’s great because we are able to do what we love while working from home, or anywhere for that matter. We’ve built this business over time and are very blessed to have the clients we have.
On top of working with my sister I’m also part of an amazing group of people who have been helping me build affiliate websites that generate an income once they are built. I joined this group back in August of this year and I really wish I would have found them sooner. While being in this group, I finally found focus for this website LivinLyfe and through building this site I’ve been able to find a couple of niche markets that I’m building sites for.
What is a niche market you may be asking. A niche market is a focused, targetable portion of a market. Basically you find a highly targeted want or need and you focus in on that niche market.
For example, one of my favorite poems is “Footprints in the Sand” and after doing a lot of research I found that this poem must be a favorite of many others because of the massive amount of searches people do in a month for this keyword phrase. So…armed with the knowledge that I’ve received within Wealthy Affiliates, I decided to build an entire website around this niche market of Footprints in the Sand.

I think the most important thing I’ve learned while working from home is TIME Management! One of the biggest tips I can give to you right now is ONLINE STOPWATCH
Yeppers…a stopwatch is what keeps me focused and on task. Do these 5 simple steps and you will be on your way to accomplishing many great things.

- Choose a goal
- Determine the amount of time you will work on this one thing
- Close all distractions on your computer (yes that means close out that Facebook window and all instant message programs )
- Set the timer
- Focus all your time and effort on that one task
and finally get the job done.

I share these endeavors with you because I want you to know there is hope. Whether you already work from home, just starting out or thinking about it, there is a way that you do this and still bring in an income for your family. It’s not an over night deal though and it takes a lot of work, discipline and time but if God is calling you to it and you set your mind to do it then it can and will be done.
