After forty years had passed, an angel appeared to Moses…in the desert…Then the Lord said to him, “…Now come, I will send you back to Egypt.” ~ Acts 7:30, 33-34
Have you ever felt like God had you in a holding pattern?
Where you wanted so badly to know which direction you should go but he was quiet? Or you knew the direction but he was telling you to just be still and know that he is God.
Let’s look at Moses for a second. Here he was 40 yrs. old and he kills an Egyptian. The following day he is called out on the carpet for his actions and he flees into the desert. He is there for 40 years before God calls him to walk in his purpose. That means Moses is 80 yrs. old before he even walks in his calling.
How awesome is that? Think about it. In those moments we feel like we’re in the desert all alone we are actually being trained and equipped with the nescessary tools to fulfill our purpose when God calls us to it.
Does it really matter how old we are when he does it? Just as long as you and I are willing vessels it really shouldn’t matter. Just trust him and know that your time, your season, your calling and your purpose WILL be fulfilled as long as you continue to surrender to him.
